Engineering Feasibility Study Update
Earlier this week, YSP participated in a collaborative site visit at Dome Mountain, one of the highest-priority wildlife collision hotspots along the U.S. Highway 89 corridor in Paradise Valley. As part of the ongoing engineering feasibility study led by Montana Department of Transportation and Jacobs Engineering, partners gathered on-site to discuss wildlife movement, roadway safety, potential crossing locations, fencing considerations, terrain constraints, and integration with existing ranch operations and infrastructure.
A big thank you to Dome Mountain Ranch for hosting, and to our partners at Montana Department of Transportation, Jacobs Engineering, Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks, TD&H Engineering, Park County Environmental Council, The Common Ground Project, National Parks Conservation Association, Greater Yellowstone Coalition, and Center for Large Landscape Conservation for their continued commitment to moving wildlife crossing solutions forward.
This work represents another important step toward safer passage for both wildlife and people along Highway 89.
